Newborn Fine Art Photography is a highly specialized craft, and expertise requires extensive and ongoing education and investment. With this in mind, I have created a professional newborn session package that is attainable for every budget. I also have options to bundle purchases after the session for even greater value. The newborn session includes digital files, as well as a sweet booking bonus! Your session is booked with a $200 non-refundable retainer (which can be credited back to you as a gift print credit – ask me how)! Most of my clients invest $900 – $1100 for their newborn session products, some less and some more, and most enjoy beautiful canvases, albums, and prints, along with digital images they can print themselves. And every client, regardless of what they spend with me, receives a personal, boutique experience. Your newborn will be safely and expertly posed and photographed, while you relax and enjoy your precious baby’s first portrait session.
And when clients book their Newborn Session with me in advance, they have the option to add a Maternity Session at a discounted rate. A large selection of maternity gowns are provided by the studio for stunning maternity sessions.
With a fully equipped studio space, I am able to provide everything needed for your newborn’s session. Every element of the session is designed to complement your baby’s natural perfection. Soft furs and blankets for posing, along with an enormous selection of fine fabrics coordinate with delicate wraps for naturally sweet images, not to mention the abundant crates, buckets, and many natural flooring options. Knit hats and handcrafted headbands and tiebacks round out the options for every session. Color preferences are discussed beforehand, so that your session is customized for you and your newborn.
And as baby grows, dozens and dozens of unique backgrounds and sets are available to take your baby through a beautifully photographed first year of babyhood and beyond.
Every baby is unique, and each baby has his or her own unique personality and level of comfort and flexibility. I am always very respectful of this, and posing is done to ensure baby’s comfort and safety at all times. As such, I cannot guarantee any specific poses, because not every baby is comfortable in every newborn pose, and not every pose is safe for every baby. Session options include a variety of images and poses, with and without props, as well as the option to take those sweet sibling/baby photos and beautiful parent & baby photographs. *For clients bringing baby’s sibling(s) to the studio, I recommend bringing dad or a trusted caregiver with you who can take young child(ren) home or to grab a bite to eat, etc… once we are finished with the sibling images. If the session is taking place at your home, I recommend having someone available who can take care of little things like snacks, drinks and entertainment for the sibling.
While I do recommend booking the newborn session during the second trimester, I always do my best to reserve time in my schedule for last-minute newborns. Contacting me to book early is the best way to ensure a session spot. But if time got away from you, or there were other special circumstances, please get in touch with me and I will do my best to schedule your newborn’s session as soon as possible.
